GEORGE E. ANDERSON 75 took the Lord’s hand and went to his final home surrounded by his loving family at 8:20 a.m. Saturday, January 27, 2018 at his residence in Jasonville.

He was born September 10, 1942 in Linton, IN to Elmer Anderson and Annie Anderson (Leturgie).

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Alice Anderson (Keller) of Jasonville; children, David Thompson of Bloomington, Julie Boyanowski of Pennsylvania, Gregg Freeman of Louisiana, George E. Anderson Jr. of Jasonville, Richard (Tammy) Anderson of Jasonville and Joshua Anderson of Jasonville; grandchildren, Kylie (Richard) Weaver, Daniel and Jeff Wilson, Cody Honchell, Kendra Anderson, Kayden Anderson; 9 great-grandchildren and one on the way; several nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers, Arlie, Ernie, Virgil Jr, Bill, and Joe; 3 sisters, Liza Mae Anderson, Amanda Oledia Graves, and Lois Maxine Long.

George spent his life in Jasonville after he served his country in the Vietnam War.  He was exposed to Agent Orange which resulted in several health problems later in his life.  George was a hard worker doing what ever he could for others.  He worked hard for many years on the Greene County Highway Department and later at Worthington Pork Plant until it closed.  George was loved by many and will be missed.  George was a member of the Jasonville American Legion Post #172.

Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, IN; coxfuneralhomejasonville.com. Visitation was scheduled from 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2018 until service time at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services followed visitation at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at the Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Tracy Carpenter officiating.

Interment was at Peavey Cemetery in Clay County with Military Graveside Rites.
