ARZELLA L. (ORMAN) MILLER AHNERT, 95, of Jasonville, IN passed away at 7:56 P.M. Saturday, November 14, 2020 in Shakamak Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Jasonville, IN.
She was born June 17, 1925 in Clay County, IN to Woodie Orman and Opal (Keller) Orman.
Survivors include her children, Debrah Shepherd Johnson of Linton, IN, Michael B. Griffith of Jasonville, IN; son in-law, George Corbin of Lyons, IN; daughter in-law Jane Shepherd of Lyons, IN; grandchildren – 8; great-grandchildren – 15; great-great-grandchildren – 11; sibling, Carolyn Mayhew of Jasonville, IN; sister in-law, Hazel Fiscus of Jasonville, IN; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, son, Basil Shepherd, daughter, Pam Corin, grandson, Michael R. Griffith, brothers, Bill Fiscus, Bob Fiscus, sister in-law, Sandra Fiscus.
Arzella retired from Wabash Valley Human Services. She later became the director of the Lyons Senior Citizens Center. She was a member of Lyons Assembly of God. She had previously been an active member of the Jasonville Church of God. Arzella was a lifetime member of the Linton V.F.W. Post. She enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles, crocheting, in her younger years she worked cross word puzzles and working out in her yard as well as traveling. Arzella loved her family and treasured the time spent with them.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 11 A.M. to 2 P.M. Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services are 2 P.M. Wednesday, November 18, 2020 with Reverend DeVore officiating.
Interment will be at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland, IN.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Arzella to Greene County Humane Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
