RACHEL EVELYN BEMIS, 98, of Coalmont, Indiana passed away at 3:25 a.m. Thursday, December 7, 2017 in Regional Hospital, Terre Haute, IN.
She was born June 2, 1919 in Coalmont, IN to Floyd Emery Bemis and Rachel Rebecca (Burger) Bemis.
Survivors include her sisters-in-law, Dorothy Bemis of Linton, Norma Bemis of Coalmont; nieces and nephews, Nancy Kristler (Dennis), David Bemis (Kim), Linda Bemis, Larry Bemis (Diane), Dale Bemis (Toni), Debbie Speyboeck, Becky Gosa, LaDonna Gay (Dick), Patricia Rehmel, Bob Rehmel, Betty McCartney (Keith), Roy Rehmel, Marie Anne Rehmel, Mike Davis; several great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Infant Cora Bell Bemis, Ruby Bemis, Mary Bemis, Anna Letitia Rehmel; brothers, Alvie Bemis, John Bemis; brother & sister-in-law, Emery and Lora Bemis; brother-in-law, Raymond Rehmel; nephew, Edward Rehmel; niece, Maxine Davis; niece-in-law, Karen Rehmel.
Rachel attended the Coalmont School. She retired from G.E. in Linton and also attended the Shiloh Assembly of God Church. Rachel loved her family and enjoyed reading her bible, church, and gardening.
Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, IN; coxfuneralhomejasonville.com. Visitation was scheduled from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services were 1 p.m. Monday, December 11, 2017 at the Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Frank Pawlak officiating.
Interment was at K of P Cemetery in Hymera, IN.
