Timothy A. “Tim” Betts, 51, of Jasonville, Indiana went to Heaven at 2:41 p.m. Sunday, August 26, 2012 in Sullivan County Community Hospital, Sullivan, IN.
He was born March 24, 1961 in Toledo, Ohio to Ted Betts and Donna (Grisham) Betts.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Jacob Betts of Jasonville, IN whom he married on February 28, 1981; daughters & sons-in-law, Amy & Jerod Barton of Jasonville, IN, Ashley Betts-Craig & RJ of Jasonville, IN; son & fiance’, Timothy Betts II & Kayla Mann of Jasonville, IN; grandchildren, Brylea Barton, Adilea Barton; parents, Ted & Donna Betts of Jasonville, IN; sisters & brothers-in-law, Julie & Jimmy Mascari of Lithopolis, Ohio, Billie & Dave Johnson of Jasonville, IN, Doris Stout of Bloomfield, IN, Trisha Betts of Jasonville, IN; brother, Steve Betts of Jasonville, IN; mother-in-law, Phyllis Jacob of Jasonville, IN; grandmother, Lorene Gardner of Jasonville, IN; sister-in-law, Tina Hill of Jasonville, IN; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews & cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; father-in-law, William D. “Billy” Jacob; nephew, Jimbo Mascari.
Tim currently worked as a Correctional Officer at the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility in Carlisle, IN having worked for 16 years. He was a 1979 Shakamak High School Graduate. Tim loved his wife, kids and grandkids more than life itself. Family meant the world to him. He was a wonderful, loving caring man. He had several hobbies. He enjoyed taking care of his yard and working in his garden. He also enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Reds play baseball. It goes without saying that Tim was a huge Ohio State Buckeye fan and now he has the best seat in the house. He will be missed by all of us yet he will never be forgotten.
Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana with Visitation scheduled from 4-9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services were 11 a.m. Friday, August 31, 2012 at the Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Tracy Hamilton officiating.
Interment was at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland, IN.
