BETTY L. (SWABY) THOMAS, 92, of Jasonville, IN passed away at 10:55 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2025 in Freedom, IN.
She was born March 23, 1933 in Greene County, IN to Clifton Leo Swaby and Belvia Mae (Reed) Swaby.
Betty married Pastor Harold Thomas and who passed away on April 3, 2008.
Survivors include her son, David Thomas (fiancé, Victoria Griffith) of Quincy, IN; granddaughter, Danielle Thomas; great-grandchildren, Zachary David Thomas, Isaac Dwayne Ford, and Silas Paul Ford; step-great-granddaughter, Savannah Ford; siblings, Bob Swaby of Midland, IN; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; son, Timothy “Tim” Thomas; sister Norma Jean Swaby.
Work/Memberships; Betty was a graduate of Midland High School.Betty was a member of Friendly Grove Baptist Church.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 1 to 3 P.M. Thursday at Friendly Grove Baptist Church 10520 S. County Road 550 W., Lewis, IN 47858. Services are immediately following at 3 P.M. with Pastor Darren Sluder and Pastor David Smith officiating.
Interment will be at Friendly Grove Cemetery in Lewis, IN.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Betty to Friendly Grove Cemetery. Envelopes will be available at the church.
