CLODENE (ST. JOHN) BITZ, 77, of Jasonville, Indiana passed away at 9:45 a.m. Sunday, October 30, 2011 in her residence.
She was born March 21, 1934 in Greene County, IN to Harry St. John and Della Chloe (Phipps) St. John.
Clodene married Ervin Bitz on September 27, 1953 and he passed away on May 13, 2000.
Survivors include her daughters & son-in-law, Deena Hansford of Jasonville, IN, Lori & Rex Smith of Jasonville, IN; sons & daughter-in-law, Kevin & Vicki Bitz of Linton, IN, Todd Bitz of Jasonville, IN; grandchildren, Scott & Meghan McKisson, Brittney & Justin Vest, Sean Bitz, Jennifer & Brian Stockwell, Kent Hansford, Jillian Smith, Cassidy Smith; great-grandchildren, Drake McKisson, Claire McKisson, Kane Stockwell; sisters, Merle McQueary and Eva Harvey both of Jasonville, IN; brother & sister-in-law, Raymond & Sandy St. John of Aurora, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Blanche Moss, Norma Letsinger, Margaret Hastings; brothers, Carl St. John, Glen St. John, Albert St. John.
Clodene was Valedictorian of her graduating class, a homemaker and member of the Jasonville United Methodist Church.
Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation was scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and 11 a.m. until service time Thursday at the Jasonville United Methodist Church. Funeral Services were 1 p.m. Thursday, November 3, 2011 at the church with Pastor Raymond St. John and Pastor Carl Leth officiating.
Interment was at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland, IN.
