HELEN MAE HOWLETT-BRIDWELL, 94, of Jasonville, Indiana passed away at 4:25 a.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2014 in Shakamak Good Samaritan Nursing Center, Jasonville, IN.

She was born May 20, 1920 in Terre Haute, IN to Rollis Cooprider and Hallie (Graden) Cooprider.

Survivors include her husband, Nathan Bridwell of Jasonville, IN whom she married on March 22, 1981; sons & daughters-in-law, Joseph & Nora Howlett of Sugar Land, TX, Charles Gary & Barbara Howlett of Fishers, IN; step-daughters, Marsha & James McDaniel of Indianapolis, IN, Lucia & Louis Ross of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Charles Michael & Jennifer Howlett, Kevin & Laura Morrow, Valeria & Federico Noris, Malcolm Morrow, Lisa McDaniel & Jeffery Stang, Ashley Nathan Ross; great-grandchildren, Evelyn Howlett, Sebastian Howlett, Luca Noris, Leo Noris, Eleanor Agnes Stang, Evelyn Ann Stang; nephews, Steven Matson, James Walker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband, Charles Arthur Howlett; sisters, Mary Matson, Ruth Walker; nephew, Tim Walker.

Helen graduated from Wiley High School in Terre Haute, Class of 1938 and attended ISU School of Business. She had worked as a secretary for Wabash Fiber Box Company of Terre Haute, IN, President of Templeton Coal Company, War Plants with the war effort, and lastly to the Vigo County Schools. She volunteered for the Boy Scouts, Shakamak Good Samaritan Nursing Center and Union Hospital in Terre Haute, IN. Helen was a Charter Member of the Memorial United Methodist Church in Terre Haute, IN. She was an avid gardener, a good cook and baker. Helen & Nathan traveled 48 States. She loved her dogs Jerry & Houdini. She was related to the Peavey Family and enjoyed visiting Frank & Gladys at the farm.

Arrangements were entrusted to Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation was scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2014 at the Shakamak Community Church. Funeral Services followed at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Ron Riggs and Pastor Chris McKinney officiating.

Interment was at Roselawn Memorial Park in Terre Haute, IN.
