PHYLLIS JOY (HOUSER) BURCH, 85, of Jasonville, Indiana left this world to live eternally in The Lord’s Heavenly Kingdom at 2:40 a.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2014 in Glenburn Home, Linton, IN.

She was born March 6, 1929 in Jasonville, IN to Clarence Elmer Houser and Hazel Effie (Brinson) Houser.

Survivors include her daughter, Teresa Rupert of Jasonville, IN; son & daughter-in-law, Mike & Beverly Burch of Vincennes, IN; grandchildren, Michelle Kennett, Marlena Stevens, Heidi & Jordan Bushnell, Haley Burch, Mikayla Burch; great-grandchildren, Kelsey Nash, Jayden Kennett, Caden Hayman, Myra Hayman; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Florence L. Nadzeika; brother, Harold R. Houser.

She was a Jasonville High School Class of 1948 graduate. She had worked as a home health care aid for several years. Phyllis was a member of the Lawton Street Christian Church, O.E.S., Pythian Sisters and Pocohontas. She had taught piano and enjoyed writing poetry.

Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation was Sunday, October 26, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services followed at 8 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Messmer officiating. Interment was 11 a.m. Monday at the Lebanon Cemetery in Midland, IN.
