DONNA JOAN STEVENSON BUTTS, 86, of Sebring, Florida and formerly of Coalmont, Indiana passed away Thursday morning, September 29, 2016 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Sebring, FL.

She was born October 8, 1929 in Clay County, IN to Foster E. Miller and Jessie J. (Phipps) Miller.

Survivors include her husband, Melvin Butts, Sr. whom she married on February 20, 1998; daughter, Terri Stevenson Scott; son and daughter-in-law, John and Torey Stevenson; daughter-in-law, Kreta Stevenson; other survivors include, Melvin Jr. and Karen Butts, Penni and David Nottingham, Jodi VanOrder; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert L. Stevenson; son, Doug Stevenson; grandson, Cory Stevenson; brothers, Arnold, Bob, Gayle, Farrell and Larry Lee Miller; sisters, Esther West and Opal Puckett.

Donna dearly loved her family and had a very strong faith. She loved music of all types and sang in many different choirs over the years. She had worked many years at the Metropolitan School District of Shakamak as High School Secretary and then at the Shakamak Good Samaritan Center where she retired. Donna was a member of Friendly Grove Baptist Church.

Florida Funeral Services were Tuesday, October 4. Local Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana; Website: coxfuneralhomejasonville.com; Visitation was scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services were 1 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Ricketts officiating.

Interment was at Friendly Grove Cemetery in Lewis, IN.

In lieu of flowers contributions were made in memory of Donna to Alzheimer’s Association. Envelopes were available at the funeral home.
