CHARLES A. “CHARLIE” MCKINLEY, 88, of Jasonville, IN passed away at 2:14 A.M. Wednesday, August 11, 2021 in his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born January 14, 1933 in Sullivan, IN to William JB McKinley and Amanda O. (Ridge) McKinley.

Charles married Roberta L. McKinley on May 3, 1952 and she passed away in August 17, 1994.

Survivors include his children, Byran Joe McKinley of Jasonville, IN, Darrell D. McKinley (Raeann) of Jasonville, IN, Yvonne J. Pilant (Virgil) of Lewis, IN; daughter in-law, Sue McKinley of Coalmont, IN; grandchildren – 10; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Rebecca Sue Gallian of Saginaw, TX, Mary Hardesty of Valparaiso, IN, Judy Sullivan of Paxton, IN; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Charles McKinley; siblings, Dorothy Gallian, Eva Allen, Paula Sterling, Marjorie Lois, Richard McKinley, Kenneth McKinley, Darrell McKinley, Larry Dale McKinley; 2-great-grandchildren.

Charlie was a loving husband and father of 4. He coached baseball and was President of the Little League. He worked as a foreman for Asplundh Tree Service and owned C&R Discount on Main Street for many years. He eventually opened his own tree trimming service and Shakamak Outdoorsman with his sons. He was a dedicated grandfather that enjoyed spending his time catching a ball game, running the grandkids around on the golf cart and making silly memories every day.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 1 P.M. to 4 P.M. Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services are 4 P.M. Tuesday, August 17, 2021 with Pastor Sam Bush officiating.

Interment will be at Peavey Cemetery in Howesville, IN.
