CHARLES “LES” MCANALLY, 86, of Hymera, IN passed away at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born January 28, 1940 in Sullivan County, IN to Samuel McAnally and Hazel (Dean) McAnally.
Les married Judith Street on November 23, 1958.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Judy McAnally of Hymera, IN; children, Mick McAnally (Pam) of Hymera, IN, Mindy Queen (Bob) of Farmersburg, IN; grandchildren, Scott McAnally (Angel), Andrew Carpenter (Jenn), Marshall Carpenter (Amanda), Amber Cundiff (Justin); step-grandson Race Queen; 19–great-grandchildren; siblings, Carl McAnally (Faytha) of Hymera, IN and Hazel Boyll of Farmersburg, IN; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Helen Mayfield, Mary Swiger, Harry McAnally, and Dorothy Royals.
Les graduated from Hymera High School in the Class of 1958. He worked at Adams Pontiac in Terre Haute, IN as a mechanic for 20 years and worked for Peabody Coal Company for 22 years. He was a 50 year member of Hymera Masonic Lodge #588 F+AM. He enjoyed restoring antique tractors and cars.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Graveside Services to be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 12th, 2026 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Wilfred, IN with Pastor Harley Archer officiating.
