JERRY J. COLLINS, 66, of Jasonville and formally of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away at 12:10 p.m. Saturday, December 4, 2010 at his residence in Jasonville. He was born October 16, 1944 in Indianapolis, IN to Lutie Collins and Myrtle (Norwood) Collins.

Survivors include his wife Jayne M. (Walden) Collins of Jasonville, whom he married on July 15, 1964; daughter & son-in-law, Jeri & Steve Morin of Jasonville; sons & daughters-in-law, Jeff & Denise Collins of Jasonville and Mark & Jacki Collins of Jasonville; grandchildren, Derek Collins, Brooke Collins, Marki Collins, Brier Collins, Dylan Collins, and Brandon Morin; sister, Janice Cross of Lyons, IN; two nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Arthur Williams; and sister, Juanita Williams.

Jerry was in the U.S. Marine Corp. He retired from the Carpenter’s Labors Local #204 of Terre Haute, IN and was a greeter for Wal-Mart. Jerry enjoyed playing Santa Claus for the kids at school. Jerry had a passion for hunting and fishing. He loved to watch his grandkids in whatever they were involved in.

Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home, 218 South Meridian Street, Jasonville, IN. Visitation was 5-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral Services were 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Messmer and Pastor Bob Dickey officiating. Interment was in Peavey Cemetery, Howesville, IN.

Memorial Contributions were made in memory of Jerry to the Kenny Irwin Jr. Foundation for under privileged children; 75 W. County Road 500 S.; New Castle, IN 47362.
