SHIRLEY D. COPPLE, 77, of Coal City, Indiana passed away at 4:37 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2017 in Wyndmoor Senior Living, Terre Haute, IN.
She was born May 27, 1939 in Green County, Tennessee to Roy Howard Carter, Sr. and Mary Ray (Knight) Carter.
Shirley married Cecil “Leo” Copple April 15, 1978 and he passed away on November 10, 2005.
Survivors include her sons, Kenny Scott of Greeneville, TN, Donny Scott of Sebastian, FL; sisters-in-law, Lisa Carter of Greeneville, TN, Juanita Copple and Kelvin McPheeters of Coal City, IN, Gwen Copple of East Wenatchee, WA; brothers, Tommy Carter of Greenville, TN, Jackie Carter, TN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Roy, Johnny, Wiley Carter; brother-in-law Ron Copple.
Shirley worked at Kellers-Sunbeam, Jasonville Cord, Worthington Cord, Cashmeer Apple Association, Cashmeer, WA. She enjoyed 10-2 CB Club, going to yard sales and playing bingo.
Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation was scheduled from 12-2 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the funeral home. Graveside Services immediately followed visitation at Hickory Cemetery, Dugger, IN with Pastor Mike Rotman officiating.
