MILDRED V. “VI” DANKO, 79, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away at 2:10 a.m. Friday, December 25, 2015 in her home at Cobblestone Crossings in Terre Haute, IN.

She was born December 13, 1936 in Asheville, NC. Her parents are John Nash and Mildred (Clause) Nash.

Vi married Ernie Ray Danko on February 18, 1957, who passed away on September 7, 2002.

Survivors include her daughters, Susan Church of Hymera, IN, Faye & Gordon A. Fitzhugh of Brigham City, UT; 10 grandchildren, Courtney & Jason Lawler, James & Kelley Church, Tad & Nikki Church, Lindsay Fitzhugh, Melanie Fitzhugh, Gordon Ray & Leah Fitzhugh, Natalie & Ernesto Lugo, Chelsea Fitzhugh, Emilee Fitzhugh, Haylee Fitzhugh; 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest Ray Danko.

Vi grew up in the Washington DC area before moving west to Indiana. Vi was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting, quilting and was very good at sewing. Vi was an avid QVC shopper. She was said to be an awesome cook.

Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation was scheduled from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral Services immediately followed Visitation at 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at the Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Doris Sparks officiating.

Cremation was chosen and interment was 11 a.m. Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Little Flock Cemetery in Shelburn, IN.
