DECKER L. HOUSE JR., 68, of Hymera, IN passed away Saturday, August 2, 2025 in Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, IN.

He was born May 12, 1957 in Brazil, IN to Decker LaVern House Sr. and Deloris Maxine (Marshall) House.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Stella M. (Lucas) House of Hymera, IN who he married on October 7, 1978; daughter, Beth Ann House Booker of Hymera, IN; grandchildren, Makayla Booker, Caylynne Booker, Chad “Chaddy” Booker Jr.; siblings, Deloris Raley of Sullivan County, IN; nieces, Lisa Key (Mike), nephew, Todd Raley along with serveral other nieces and nephews; several brother in-laws and sister in-laws.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Harley House; nephew, Infant William Keith Raley; several brother in-laws and sister in-laws., great nephew, Erik Sheffler.

Decker graduated from Shakamak High School Class of 1976. He worked for Woodswire/ Jasonville Cord Factory and the City of Jasonville for 28 years before retiring. He was a member of Briley Chapel Church. Decker worked in the Briley Chapel Food Pantry. He was a past Boy Scout Master Troop #457. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, but his great love was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a kind, compassionate, wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He always helped anyone in need and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He raised his kids with the saying “Make sure you do at least one kind deed for someone before you go to bed at night.”

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 1 P.M. to 4 P.M. Friday, August 8, 2025 at the Funeral Home. Services are immediately following at 4 P.M. with Pastor Darren Sluder and Pastor James Phipps officiating.

Interment will be at Friendly Grove Cemetery in Lewis, IN.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Decker to Briley Chapel Food Pantry or Briley Chapel Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
