DELMAR WAYNE SCOTT, 77, of Jasonville  passed away Saturday, February 20, 2010. He was born April 5, 1932 to Charley Edwin and Dale (Forbes) Scott.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents;  infant sister; son, Gary Wayne Scott in 1973 and brother-in-law, Jerry D. Mitchell in 2008. He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Mitchell) Scott whom he married in 1953; sons & daughter-in-law, Kenneth & Anita Scott of Linton, Donald Scott and David Scott of Jasonville; daughter & son-in law, Karen & Randy Bays of Zionsville; grandchildren, Kerry & Matt Fox and  Daniel Scott of Jasonville, Justin & Lesli Bays, of Fort Wayne, Jesika Bays of Zionsville, Kylee Scott of Linton, Sharla & Matt Gardner of Marshall, IL, Jennifer & Travis Johnson of Sullivan; great-grandchildren, Kage, Lacey, Addison, Jaden, Jalen, Alex, Abigail, Kyanna, Blaine, Kinsley and Kaden; sisters, Beverly Scott of Jasonville, and Elaine & Max Harper of Marion; sisters-in-laws, Patsy & Jerry Hill, Shirley & Bill Sapp of Jasonville, Beverley & Dave Brashear, June & Bryan Shacklett of Linton, and Sharon & Don West of Indianapolis; brothers-in-law, Tom & Sheila Mitchell of Blackhawk and Bob Mitchell and Jim Mitchell of Jasonville; aunt, Lily Criss of Indianapolis; Regina Mitchell, widow of brother-in-law, Jerry; numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews; special nephew, Donnie Brashear his fishing and ballgame “buddy”.

Wayne graduated from Midland High School in 1951 and worked at Indianapolis until he went into service. When in Korea he played the bugle. On his return he worked at G.E. in Linton, retiring after 38 years. He had a passion for sports and attended all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s games as well as most Shakamak Laker basketball, baseball, and volleyball games. He enjoyed mushroom hunting. fishing, singing and hard work. He was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church and the VFW.

Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home, 218 South Meridian Street, Jasonville, IN. Visitation was 5-9 p.m. Tuesday, February 23 and after 9 a.m. Wednesday until funeral services all at the funeral home. Funeral Services were 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2010 with Rev. Keith Pope officiating. Burial was in Lebanon Cemetery, Midland, IN with military graveside rites.

Contributions in lieu of flowers were made to the Wright Township Fire Department.
