DON STANIFER, 87, of Hymera, IN passed away at 8:58 A.M. Sunday, October 3, 2021 in his home surrounded by his family.
He was born August 28, 1934 in Hymera, IN to Drue Stanifer and Suda (Hayes) Stanifer.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Donna (Davenport) Rogers Stanifer of Hymera, IN whom he married on July 4, 1963; children,Barbara Joyner (Michael) of Jasonville, IN, Don Stanifer Jr. (Sonya) of Wilfred, IN; grandchildren – 12; great-grandchildren – 11.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Lori Ann Stanifer; son, Michael Rogers; sister, Emily Angel; brothers, Paul Stanifer, Gene Stanifer.
Don graduated Shelburn High School Class of 1952. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and served for 4 years. He was a member of Hymera Masonic Lodge# 588 F & AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute and Linton Moose Lodge# 1434. Don liked fishing, enjoyed watching his grandkids in the sporting events and loved Donna’s home cooked meals.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 5 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, October 6, 2021 with Masonic Memorial Service at 7 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Graveside Services are 1 P.M. Thursday, October 7, 2021 at K of P Cemetery at Hymera, IN with Pastor Nicholas Joyner officiating. Burial will immediately follow.
