DOUGLAS B. “DOUG” SHACKLETT, 71, of Jasonville, IN passed away at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2026 in The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute, IN.
He was born May 26, 1954 in Sullivan, IN to Alton Brooks Shacklettand Patricia (Bonham) Shacklett.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine L. (Walters) Shacklett ofJasonville, IN who he married on November 28, 2009; children,Darrin Shacklett (Jennifer) of North Carolina, Dusti Kendall (Joe) of Linton, IN, Tom Shacklett (Lynette) of Michigan, step-daughters, Sue and Sandy; grandchildren, Sabrina Renner, Jonathan Shacklett(Bethany), Michelle Kendall, Justin Kendall, Katelyn Peace (Tim), Kelsey Burgess (Ryan), Maddox Shacklett, Christopher Hendon, Easton Shacklett; many great-grandchildren; many step-grandchildren and step great-gradnchildren; siblings, Paula Jewell of Jasonville, IN, James Shacklett of Jasonville, IN, Becky Shacklett (Charlie Kennett) of Las Vegas, NV, Dallas Shacklett (Shannon) of Shelburn, IN, Danielle Marshall of Jasonville, IN., Many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Richard Scott Shacklett; nephew, Jason Collier .
Doug worked in maintenance at a paint factory. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching the Cubs and Detroit Tigers. Doug played football in high school. He was a Sons of the American Legion member of Jasonville American Legion Post# 172.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday February 23, 2026 at the Funeral Home.Services are immediately following at 7 p.m. with Pastor David Smith officiating.
