DWAYNE A. “WAYNE” MCCAMMON, 40, of Carlisle, IN passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family at 8:05 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2026.
He was born May 8, 1985 in Indianapolis, IN to John R. McCammon Sr. and Lois E. (Abell) McCammon.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda M. McCammon of Carlisle, IN who he married on May 2, 2026; parents; Lois E. McCammon of Carlisle, IN, John R. McCammon Sr. (Christy) of Sullivan, IN; children, Kevont Pirtle of Washington, IN, Dominic McCa
mmon of Washington, IN, Donavyn Stewart-McCammon of Carlisle, IN, Jayden McCammon of Washington, IN, Bentley Stewart-McCammon of Carlisle, IN, Trinity McCammon of Carlisle, IN, Noah Abell McCammon of Carlisle, IN; siblings, John McCammon Jr. (Emily) of Carlisle, IN, James McCammon (Tiara) of Carlisle, IN, Connie Jo Bryan (Matt) of Farmersburg, IN, Dani Jo Mize of Clinton, IN, Lexi Jo Grindstaff of Sullivan, IN, Parker McCammon of Sullivan, IN; sisters in-law, Amber Beeler (Larry) of Pimento, IN, Andrea Shouse (Logan) of Clay City, IN; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Connie and Henry Abell; paternal grandparents, Margaret and Robert McCammon.
Dwayne graduated from Sullivan High School. He worked at Sullivan Wood Products. He loved yard work and being outdoors with his kids. He enjoyed camping and fishing, and watching the Colts. Dwayne loved his family and spending time with them.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. In keeping with Dwayne’s wishes cremation is scheduled. There will be a Celebration of Life from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2026 at the Funeral Home.
