BOBBY GENE “BOB” EAVEY, 74, of Jasonville, Indiana passed away at 5:27 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2014 in Regional Hospital, Terre Haute, IN.

He was born February 19, 1940 in Greene County, IN to William Wilson Eavey and Nora Myrtle (Truitt) Eavey.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Norma Lee (Owen) Eavey of Jasonville, IN whom he married on August 9, 1963; daughter & son-in-law, Teresa Faye & Vence Canada of New Harmony, IN; sons & daughters-in-law, Randall Ray & Susan Danko of Indianapolis, IN, Ronald Jay & Marianne Danko of Linton, IN, Gerald Gene & Lisa Eavey of Avon, IN; grandchildren, Andrew Canada, Joshua Canada, Ryan Canada, Elizabeth Brumley, Vivian Danko, Caleb Danko, Staci Austin, Anna McElwee, Alicia Eavey, Chris Crosley; great-grandchildren, Kasey Canada, Alli Canada, Kyle Canada, Kingston Brumley, Olivia Canada, Brandon Dagley, Braxton Austin, Alexa Austin, Quichea Richards, Taylor Richards, Heaven McElwee, Adelyn McElwee, Austin King, CJ Crosley; great-great-grandson, Xander Boles; sister & brother-in-law, Sara & Jerry Robertson of Noblesville, IN; brother-in-law, George J. Roberts of Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William Eavey; sister, JoAnn Roberts.

Bob graduated from Switz City High School Class of 1959. He retired from Peabody Coal Company after 27 years where he was a prospect driller. Bob was a member of Jasonville Masonic Lodge #530 F&AM.

Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation was scheduled at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. Thursday with A Celebration of Life following Visitation at 7 p.m., June 26, 2014 with grandson Ryan Canada officiating.
