EDGAR ALLEN “ED” WHITE, 95, of Jasonville, IN passed away at 12:40 P.M. Friday, November 6, 2020 in Shakamak Good Samaritan Center in Jasonville, IN.

He was born October 1, 1925 in Jasonville, IN to Luther Bryant White and Lettie (Woods) White.

Edgar married Violet Louise (Sexton) White on May 24, 1947. Violet passed away on August 25, 2007.

Survivors include his children, Jeannie (White) Hammond (Rick) of Vicksburg, IN, Eddie Lee White (Jackie) of Jasonville, IN; son in-laws, James Hall of Greenwood, IN, Rex Love of Clay City, IN; grandchildren – 7; great-grandchildren – 17; great-great-grandchildren – 6; nephew, Kenneth Horton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Edgar White; daughters, Carolyn Louise Hall, Shirley Ann Love; brothers, Woodie White, Luke White; sister, Golden Horton.

Edgar served in the U.S. Marine Corp during WWII. He loved to go to their cabin on the river to camp, fish and relax on the weekends. Edgar loved to run his beagle dogs and in his later years enjoyed working in the yard and gardening. He was a member of Jasonville American Legion Post# 172. Edgar worked as a pipe fitter and welder at Pfizer and retired after 39 years of service. Edgar attended and was a member of Jasonville Assembly of God. His family wants to thank the Shakamak Good Samaritan Center Administration and staff for their loving and compassionate care.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services are 1 P.M. Tuesday, November 10, 2020 with Pastor Sam Bush officiating. The family requests that masks be worn by all who attend.

Interment will be at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland, IN with Military Graveside Rites.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Edgar to Shakamak Good Samaritan Center. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
