ELLA ANNABELLE (KESTER) BENNETT, Age 94 of Jasonville, passed away 10:32 p.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2009 in Shakamak Good Samaritan Nursing Center, Jasonville, IN. She was born July 16, 1915 in Coalmont, Indiana to Bert & Olive (Stark) Kester. She was married January 10, 1964 to Fred W. Bennett.

She was co-owner of Gambles Furniture along with her husband Fred Bennett for 45 of the 60 years the store has been in operation. She worked at Peoples Trust Company for 20 years before marrying Fred and joining him at the Gambles Furniture Store. She was a 50 year member at the Jasonville First Baptist Church where she was the pianist and organist for many, many years, she also served as the church treasurer for many years. She graduated from Coalmont High School, was a former member of the Delts, Jasonville Chamber of Commerce and Shakamak Women’s Civic Club.

Survivors include her husband, Fred W. Bennett of Jasonville, IN; adopted son, Brad Duncan & Andrea Pierce of Jasonville; niece, Janet Burris & husband Virgil of Jasonville; and nephew, Gene Nelson of Brazil. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lois Taylor and brother, Clair Kester.

Visitation was held, 5-8 p.m. Friday and noon until 2 p.m. Funeral Service time on Saturday, August 8, 2009 all at the Jasonville First Baptist Church, South Washington Street in Jasonville. Interment was in the Lebanon Cemetery in Midland, Indiana with Pastor Kenneth Coffman officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox Ferguson-Lee Inc., Cox Chapel.
