EMILY JOYCE WOODS, 76, of Dugger, IN passed away at 6:50 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at Glenburn Senior Living in Linton, IN
She was born May 30, 1948 in Mt. Vernon, IN to parents William Henry Blackburn and Emily Frances (Douthitt) Blackburn.
Emily married Donald R. Woods September 3, 1991.
Survivors include her husband, Donald R. Woods of Dugger; children, Richard Lutterman of Denver, CO, Christy Lutterman (Matthew Murphy) of Switz City, IN, Anna Marie Womack (Kevin) of Lillington, NC, Heidi Ann Puckett (Brandon) of Linton, IN; grandchildren, Christopher William Johnson (Casssandra), Evan P. Johnson, Kelsey Catherine Womack–Koerner, Cameron Womack, Vanessa Johnson, Courtney Murphy, Ian Puckett, and Avery Puckett; great-grandchildren, Presley Koerner, Tyler Johnson, Lillie Johnson, Aubree Johnson, Lyla Fidler, Kahleesi Baker, Kodi Kate Johnson, and Cora Koerner; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert and Jimmy; sisters Norma Jean Hamblin, Wanda Fern Osborne, Ethel Combs, and Pauline Lutterman.
Emily graduated Mt. Vernon High School and Worked at Wabash Valley Correctional Facility as the Director of Human Resources until she retired. While in Cadiz, KY, she was a member of the Cadiz Hospital Auxillary and ran the gift shop in the hospital. She enjoyed bowling, shopping and was a member of BPA in Mt. Vernon, IN.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. In keeping with Emily’s wishes, cremation was chosen with a Celebration of Life to be arranged at a later date.
Interment will be at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland, IN.
