GARY ALAN “SKIP” ENSTROM, 73, of Hymera, Indiana passed away at 10:50 a.m. Thursday, March 16, 2017 in his residence.  

He was born April 20, 1943 in Hymera, IN to Harry Alfred Enstrom and Cealia (Bockman) Enstrom.

Survivors include his sister, Jane Mills of Anderson, IN; brothers, William “Bill” Enstrom of Jasonville, IN, James “Scott” Enstrom of Hymera, IN; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Myrtle Runyan, Harry Jr. “Tom” Enstrom, John Enstrom, Linda Stewart, Richard “Sonny” Enstrom.

Gary graduated from Hymera High School Class of 1961 and Indiana State. He taught art in Sullivan County for 30 years, retiring from Northeast School Corporation. He was a member of the Hymera Methodist Church where he was Pianist and Organist for 40 years. Gary was a current member of Hymera Town Council and Hymera Odd Fellows Lodge. Skip loved to collect antiques and was an avid antique collector. He was actively taking art classes learning to paint porcelain.

Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, IN; coxfuneralhomejasonville.com. Visitation was scheduled from Noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Funeral Services immediately followed visitation at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 19, 2017 with Pastor Norman Santus officiating.

Interment was at K of P Cemetery in Hymera, IN.
