MARY EMMA EVANS, 91, of Jasonville, Indiana passed away at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013 in Greene County General Hospital, Linton, IN.

She was born October 22, 1921 in Dexter, IL to Daniel Wray Young and Bama Blanche (Calhoun) Young.

Mary married Ernest “Ernie” Hale Evans on October 4, 1941 and he passed away on October 23, 1993.

Survivors include her daughter & son-in-law, Annette & Doug Ladson of Linton, IN; sons & daughter-in-law, Robert & Jeanne Evans of Centerville, OH, James Evans of Terre Haute, IN; grandchildren, Nate Evans, Sara & Broc Sparks, Katie & Todd Byram; great-grandchildren, Coen Sparks, Calvin Sparks; several nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Earl Young.

Mary graduated high school at age 16 and then received a teaching degree. She worked with her husband at Evans Heating and Air Conditioning as Secretary and Treasurer. She was a member of the Linton O.E.S. Lodge #140, Tri Kappa, Ladies of the Elks, Bridge Club, Former Member of the Jasonville Library Board, Past Treasurer of the Jasonville United Methodist Church where she was a member.

Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana with Visitation scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday with O.E.S. Memorial Services scheduled for 7 p.m. and 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. service time Monday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services were 11 a.m. Monday, June 17, 2013 at the Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Floyd Stone officiating.

Interment was at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland, IN.

In lieu of flowers contributions were made in memory of Mary to The Jasonville Public Library. Envelopes were available at the funeral home.
