FLOYD J. FRENCH, 87, of Hymera, Indiana passed away at 6:20 a.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2011 in Greene County General Hospital Linton, IN.

He was born September 1, 1924 in Sullivan County, IN to Floyd French and Maryann (Benefiel) French.

Survivors include his spouse, Betty (Lacer) Keller French of Hymera whom he married on April 19, 1996; sons & daughters-in-law, Steve J. & Pat French of Jasonville, Michael J. French of Jasonville, Kenny & Nance French of Linton; step-sons & daughters-in-law, Tom & Louise Keller of Seymour, Don & Barbara Keller of Linton, John & Pauletta Keller of Linton, Bill & Meleah Keller of Linton; step-daughter & son-in-law, Scarlet & Bob Barker of Linton; grandchildren, Jessi & Colt Stanton, Scott French, Brooke French, Erin Russell, Connor French, Jace French, Clayton French; great-grandchildren, Jaelyn Russell, Easton Russell, Greenleigh Russell, Claire Stanton, Lanie French, Clark Stanton; sister, Estella Zook of Milwaukie, OR; sisters-in-law, Pat French of Danville, IL, Gerri French, Dickson, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Raymond French & Harold French; two infant sisters.

Floyd was a coal miner with the AMAX Coal Company and a UMWA member of Local 1423 since 1967. He also attended Indiana Teachers College was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran and a 65 year member of the Hymera American Legion Post #298.

Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana with Visitation scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services were 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2011 at the Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Russell Black officiating.

Interment was at K of P Cemetery in Hymera, IN with Military Graveside Rites.
