ROBERT “BOB” GARDNER, 67, of Jasonville, Indiana passed away at 5:05 p.m. Tuesday, September 10, 2013 in Regional Hospital, Terre Haute, IN after losing his battle with cancer.
He was born May 11, 1946 in Linton, IN to Lewis Richard Gardner and Mary Jane (Hammersley) Gardner Bedwell.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Vicki (Hill) Gardner of Jasonville, IN whom he married on February 27, 1966; daughter & son-in-law, Denise & Jack Morgan of Huntingburg; sons & daughters-in-law, Chris & Jeanine Gardner of Linton, Aaron & Kim Gardner of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Erica & Donte Cital, Cory Gardner Cottingham, Dustin Morgan, Tyler & Kristin Morgan, Aaron & Ashley Morgan, Stacy Ammerman, Chad & Darian Morgan, Travis & Jenna Morgan, Josh Morgan, Danielle & Kyle Myers, Kayden, Aaralyn and Adalie Gardner; great-grandchildren, Brodie Myers, China and Phoebee Cital; brother & sister-in-law, Larry & Susan Gardner of Terre Haute; sister & brother-in-law, Karen & Bill Gaskins of Terre Haute.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandmother, Fern Hammersley; brother, Charles Gardner; step-father, Robert Bedwell.
He was a member of the Coalmont Baptist Church and attended the Jasonville Church of God. He had worked for John S. Cox Auto Parts Store in Terre Haute and been the Manager for NAPA Stores in Jasonville and Bloomfield. He enjoyed his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an avid reader and loved taking care of his German Shepard, Cinco. He liked being involved with the NRA and tinkering with cars.
Arrangements were entrusted to Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana with Visitation scheduled from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at the Jasonville Church of God. Private Funeral Services were held at the Jasonville Church of God with Pastor Jonathan Heard officiating on Saturday, September 14, 2013.
