GARNETT J. EYRE, 90, of Shelburn, IN passed away at 8:04 P.M Monday, February 24, 2025 at Envive Healthcare in Sullivan, IN.
She was born January 6, 1935 in Knox County, IN to Garland Hatton and Velma M. (Strevenson) Hatton.
Garnett married Robert Eyre who passed away August 8, 1998.
Survivors include her daughter, Cathy Evans of Shelburn, IN; granddaughter, Deidre Evans and great-grandsons, Darren Suits and Walter Howell III.
She was preceded in death her parents, husband; brothers, Donald Hatton and Sonny (Garland) Hatton Jr.) and sisters, Alice Roberson and Margaret York.
Garnett worked at the Gossard Bra Factory in Bicknell, IN, the Tulip Factory in Terre Haute. Her last place of employment was Columbia Records in Terre Haute where she was a press room operator. Garnett loved her flowers and gardening. She was an excellent cook and seamstress. She enjoyed hosting family dinners and events.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. In keeping with Garnett’s wises, cremation was chosen and no services are scheduled at this time.
