GARY D. YERYAR, 70, of Jasonville, IN went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 17, 2025 at his home following a long battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born July 31, 1955 in Linton, IN to James “Red” Yeryar and Laura (Fougerousse) Yeryar.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Pam (Watters) Yeryar of Jasonville, IN who he married on May 26, 1974; sons, Jeremy Yeryar (Stacy) of Jasonville, IN, Jimmy John Yeryar (Linsey) of Jasonville, IN;        grandchildren, Braxton Yeryar (Katie), Tanner Yeryar (Bekah), Morgan Kinnett (Logan), Emma Yeryar, Braden Cox (Cassie); great-grandchildren, Brinlee Yeryar, Bennett Yeryar, Carter Kinnett, Colson Kinnett, Sunnie Cox, Stevie Cox, with 2 on the way; brothers, Jim Yeryar (Shelia) of Midland, IN, John Yeryar (Debbie) of Midland, IN; brother in-laws, Rick Gambill (Lisa) of Linton, IN, Vic Gambill (Carla) of Linton, IN, Larry Watters (Beth) of Linton, IN; many nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Jeff Fidler, Doug Schopmeyer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Devonna (Yeryar) Johnson, twin sister, Teresa Diane Yeryar; brother, Allen Yeryar; great-granddaughter, Everly Yeryar; mother in-law, Nola Watters.

Gary graduated from Shakamak High School Class of 1973. He was a UMWA member and worked as a heavy equipment operator and welder for Peabody Coal Co. at the Hawthorne Mine for 23 years. He was a member of Operating Engineers with the Rogers Group for 20 years. Gary loved baseball, golf, deer hunting and metal detecting. He loved watching his children and grandchildren play sports. He loved coaching baseball from peewee to high school always giving his heart and soul to every kid he coached. Gary was an avid fan of the Cubs, Colts and Notre Dame teams

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. In keeping with Gary’s wishes, cremation will be scheduled.
