MARGARET KATHRYN “KATE” GREEN, 86, of Jasonville, Indiana passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at 2:35 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2015 in Shakamak Good Samaritan Center.

She was born July 21, 1929 in Terre Haute, IN to George Killian Meyer and Grace Gladys (Pierson) Meyer.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Tom Green of Jasonville, IN whom she married on December 31, 1953; daughter & son-in-law, Shawn & B.A. Shipman of Jasonville, IN; sons & daughters-in-law, Dr. Thomas Richard, Jr. & Elaine Green of Carmel, IN, Scotty A. Green of Terre Haute, IN, Patrick K. & Angela Green of Jasonville, IN; grandchildren, Brooks & Tracy Green, Michael & Natalie Green, Michelle & Brian Tolin, Tommy Green, Patrick Green, Emily Green, Bryly Shipman, Matthew Green, Parker Green, Brayson Shipman; great-grandchildren, Penelope, Izzy, Beckham, Michael, Olivia; brother & sister-in-law, Emery & Brenda King of Evansville, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Virginia Dillon; brother, George Meyer.

Kate was a Princeton High School Graduate Class of 1948. She owned and operated her own beauty shop for several years. She retired from Metropolitan School District of Shakamak where she worked as a cook. Kate attended the Jasonville Assembly of God Church and Lawton Street Christian Church. She was a member of the O.E.S. and Delts. She loved to cook, watch her kids and grandkids play ball. She so enjoyed sitting on the front porch with Tom and waving at all who passed the house and also enjoyed her golf cart rides.

Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation was scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. service time Sunday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services were 1 p.m. Sunday, October 11, 2015 at the Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Messmer and Pastor Sam Bush officiating.

Interment was at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland, IN.

Contributions were made in memory of Kate to Shakamak Good Samaritan Center. Envelopes were available at the funeral home.
