HAROLD A. HARRISON, 66, of Coalmont, Indiana passed away at 3:02 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2011 in Union Hospital Terre Haute, IN.
He was born November 2, 1944 in Linton, IN to Richard W. Harrison and Kathleen (Duckworth) Harrison.
Survivors include his spouse, Diane L. (McFarland) Harrison of Coalmont, IN whom he married on August 21, 1983; son, Harold Eugene Harrison of Jasonville, IN; daughter, Deborah Sue Harrison of Jasonville, IN; brother & sister-in-law, George & Jerrie Harrison of Lewis, IN; sister & brother-in-law, Rita Kay & Charlie Bose of Carlisle, IN; brother-in-law, Harold “Pude” Keller of Jasonville, IN; 4-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Marjorie Keller and Dixie Glenn; brother, Kenny Harrison; son, William Henry Harrison.
Harold had worked at the City of Jasonville, Cord Factory, Keller’s Service Station and was disabled from The Milwaukee Railroad. He was a member of Lewis Township Fire & Rescue, Greene County Firefighters Association, Indiana Volunteer Firefighters Association, Supporting Hero’s St. Jude’s Partner, I.O.P.O. Tissue Donor. He received the Ollie Sandburg Mental Attitude Award, Midwest Award-Governor’s Meritorious Award, Lewis Township Firefighter of the Year.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Cox Funeral Home; Jasonville, Indiana with Visitation scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Lewis Township Fire Dept. in Coalmont, IN, a Volunteer Firefighter Association Memorial Service was scheduled for 7 p.m., and 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday. Funeral Services were 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2011 also at the Lewis Township Fire House with Chaplain Pete Taylor and Pastor Mark Messmer officiating.
Interment was at Morris Chapel Cemetery in Linton, IN.
In lieu of flowers contributions were made to the Lewis Township Fire Dept.
