GARLAND “SONNY” HATTON JR., 66, of Sullivan, Indiana passed away at 8:50 a.m. Friday, January 29, 2016 in his residence.
He was born March 19, 1949 in Knox County, IN to Garland Hatton Sr., and Velma (Stevenson) Hatton.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Rhonda S. (Johnson) Hatton of Sullivan, IN who he married on January 25, 1976; daughter and son-in-law, Toni Jo & Matthew Norris of Prairie Creek, IN; sons and daughters-in-law, Jim & Mandy Hatton of New Albany, IN, Greg & Ashley Hatton of Coalmont, IN; grandchildren, Colton Norris, Logan Norris, Trace Norris, Jamie Hatton, Dakotah Hatton, Dallas Corter, Kale Hatton; sister, Garnett Eyre of Hymera, IN; brother and sister-in-law, Don & Anita (Edwards) Hatton of Wheatland, IN; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Robert Eyre; nieces, Lisa Eyre and Susan Eyre.
Sonny graduated from Fritchton High School Class of 1967. He retired from Bemis and owned and operated a home construction business for many years. He loved fishing, hunting, remote planes, horse shoes and playing golf. He loved anything outdoors.
Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Per “Sonny’s” wishes, Cremation was chosen and no Visitation or Funeral Services were scheduled.
