India was a very kind and caring soul, when you would meet her, she would always have a smile and offer you a glass of sweet tea. If you stayed at her house long, she would cook you something to eat. India was a great cook and her food always tasted good, even on the occasion it might have been a little burnt. You never left her house with an empty stomach.
Over her lifetime, she mentored and loved countless children in the community and made them feel welcome and wanted even if they were not related. Her door was always open, and she would help anyone in need. Her house was full of love and kids up until the day she left us. India loved being a mother and grandmother. She loved all animals and would take care of ones that needed a warm place to live.
In India’s younger days, she loved to travel, something she inherited from her mother. She drove a semi across the United States for a living. She loved collecting postcards, pictures, and rocks that she kept from her journeys. Once India quit trucking and decided to stay home, she started bartending at the Blue Room in Jasonville. She took great care of all the customers and friends that would visit her there. India spoke fondly about all the memories and friendships she made while working there.
India will always be remembered in love and in the lives of so many she touched. She left her mark on this world by surrounding so many people with love and comfort, and with that, she will always be with us in our hearts.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox at Cox Funeral Home; 218 Meridian St. Jasonville, IN. In keeping with India’s wishes, cremation is scheduled with a Celebration of Life from Noon – 2 PM on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at the Funeral Home.
