IRIS DIANE (LUNDY) ELLIS, 82, of Jasonville, IN passed away at 1:56 p.m. Thursday, December 4, 2025 in her home.

She was born July 7, 1943 in Clay County, IN to Clarence E. Lundy and Ruby Josephine (Waldon) Lundy.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Alan L. Ellis of Jasonville, IN who she married on August 12, 1962; daughter, Debra D. Lubelski (David) of West Lafayette, IN; grandchildren, Aaron D. Lubelski (Sarah Kelecy), Adam M. Lubelski; nephews, David L. Ellis (Kate), Scott N. Ellis (Rebecca); sister in-law, Teresa Ellis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister in-law, Loreta Ellis; brother in-law, Thomas D. Ellis.

Diane graduated from Coalmont High School. She and Alan owned and operated various enterprises form their home. Diane was a quiet and loving soul who enjoyed raising flowers, cooking, and doting over her many “furry children”. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family. She worked in the business office at Shakamak Good Samaritan Nursing Home. A nephew shared, I knew her as Aunt Diane. She was quick with a big hug. Of all the family members on my dad’s side, she was the best at making a kid feel loved and cared for, not in that cheesy baby-talky way, but genuinely interested in how you were and making you glad you were there. She called me Ralphie…no idea why, but I thought it was funny and she knew it. When the grown-ups were talking, she seemed quiet to me, as if she knew they were talking nonsense and didn’t need to participate. I knew she worked really hard and for a long time taking care of folks at the nursing home. I didn’t get to witness her work but her warmth had to have really connected with people who needed love and support in their lives. I’ve lived a long way from her for a long time and didn’t have enough time with her. As I got older she loved to tell me her favorite stories about me when I was younger. To me it meant she paid attention, and that meant a lot to me. She was a wonderful human that I was blessed to have in my family.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. There are no services planned at this time.

Interment will be at Peavey Cemetery in Jasonville, IN.
