MONNA IRONS, 81, of Linton, Indiana passed away at 4:33 p.m. Monday, February 20, 2017 in Union Hospital in Terre Haute, IN.  

She was born March 15, 1935 in Greene County, IN to LaGonia “Eph” Kirkpatrick and Mamie Cecil (Flynn) Kirkpatrick.

Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Lavonna Rose of Linton, IN, Rita & Larry Velez of Terre Haute, IN; Madonna & Paul Templeton of Terre Haute, IN; grandchildren, Jerad Rose, Angela & Ryan Turner, Abby & Josh Brown, Allison Velez, Andy & Marie Cox, Jon Cox, Asaph & Sara Rink; great-grandchildren, Jerad Devin Rose, Brayden Turner, Peyton Turner, Sophia Brown, Alex Brown, Andrea Cox, Andy Cox, Ashley Cox, Cheyenne Copeland, Hunter, Cox, Ava Rink; brother, Raymond Kirkpatrick of Hutsonville, IL; sister, Grace Brown of Sullivan, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob Irons on September 15, 2002; great-grandson, Tyler Cox; siblings, Marvin Kirkpatrick, Pearl Agan, Bernice Campbell, Betty Sparks, Bill Kirkpatrick, Joan Rose, Olive Tackett.

Monna had been a waitress, worked at Keller Chair Factory, Charles Industries, Morning Side in South Bend, Glenburn Nursing Home in Linton and also did Foster Care. She enjoyed watching TV, quilting and embroidery.

Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, IN; coxfuneralhomejasonville.com. Visitation was scheduled from 11 to 1 Friday. Funeral Services immediately followed visitation at 1 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2017 at the Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Sam Bush officiating.

Interment was at Peavey Cemetery in Howesville, IN.
