JAMES C. “JIM” SLATER, 73, of Jasonville, Indiana passed away at 11:25 a.m. Monday, March 25, 2019 in his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born December 9, 1945 in Linton, IN to Conrad and Marie (St. John) Slater.

Survivors include his wife, Sasha (Mills) Slater of Jasonville who he married on August 10, 2006; children, Cara Orman (Shannon) of Vicksburg, Melissa Slater of Jasonville, Jim “Mooch” Slater of Jasonville, Matthew Slater of Jasonville; grandchildren, Steven Brady, Derick Slater, Derrick Orman, Chase Orman, Adam Slater, Holden Slater; great-grandson, Kayson Stevenson; siblings, Rosie Dickey of Jasonville, Connie Wools of Linton, Tina Chandler of Linton; several nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Leah (Williams) Slater; brothers, Jack Slater, Alton Slater; sisters, Nancy Caddell, Patricia “Sis” Dorman, Donna Carlyle; granddaughter, Baileigh Orman.

Jim loved his family and his friends. He enjoyed his grandsons…they were the world to him.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Cox Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will immediately follow visitation at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2019 at the Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Sam Bush officiating.

Interment will be at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland, IN.
