JAMES E. “JIM” WOODS, 94, of Jasonville, IN passed away at 3:35 a.m. Thursday, October 10, 2019 in Shakamak Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Jasonville, IN.
He was born May 2, 1925 in Terre Haute, IN to James P. Woods and Rachel E. (West) Woods.
Jim married Mary R. Woods on March 28, 1947, she passed away on October 27, 2016.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and siblings; Esther, Lucille, Walter, Clifford, Lester Paul, Herschel and Syvilla.
Jim was a U.S. Army Veteran and recipient of the Purple Heart, he was the customer service manager for Adams Pontiac in Terre Haute for over 30 years. Jim was an avid bird hunter and chief mechanic for his wife Mary in her drag racing days.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services are 3 p.m. Sunday October 13, 2019 with Pastor Brad West officiating
Interment will be at Peavey Cemetery in Howesville, IN with Military Graveside Rites.
In lieu of flower contributions may be made in memory of Jim to Jasonville Assembly of God and Wilson General Baptist Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
