JAMES MARVIN GRIFFITH, 83, of Linton, IN passed away at 11:22 a.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2026 at his home.
He was born April 7, 1943 in Sullivan, IN to James Howard Griffith and Vivian Bernice (Miller) Griffith.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Ann Griffith of Linton, IN who he married on November 24, 1966; children, Lorie Denice Pickerll (Ron) of Sand Springs, OK and Jeffrey Howard Griffith (Jodi Sue) of Pine Hill, AL; grandchildren, Amber Turnham, Todd Pickrell, Justin Pickrell, Tiffany Yeargain, Maggie Luce, Steven Autstin Griffith, Dylanger Lebren Griffith, Zachary Aaron Griffith, Darrek Anthony Griffith, and Sierra Nicole Norsworthy; also Great Grand Children
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Elaine Wile, Connie Schafer, Toni Griffith, Mike Griffith, and son James Lebren Griffith
James graduated from Coalmont High School. He served in the US Navy for 25 years as an electronics technician. After his honorable discharge he worked 20 years doing government contract work. James was a member of the Jasonville American Legion Post #172, a VFW Life Member Post 7118, and Friendly Grove Baptist Church. He also spent time raising Arabian horses.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. A Graveside services is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, November 5. 2026 at Friendly Grove Cemetery with Pastor David Smith officiating and Military Graveside Rites.
