JANICE FAYE (BORDERS) HAMILTON, 85, of Jasonville, IN passed away at 10:50 A.M. Saturday, February 18, 2023 in Shakamak Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Jasonville, IN.
She was born November 25, 1937 in Jasonville, IN to Clarence Borders and Nellie (Denny) Borders.
Janice married Vernon E. Hamilton, he passed away on March 25, 2019 .
Survivors include her children, Veronica Hamilton of Jasonville, IN, Tony Hamilton of Jasonville, IN, Jan Hamilton of Jasonville, IN; grandchildren, Kelly, Brandon, Brock and Dina; great-grandchildren, Lexy, Mason, Evelyn, Elaim, Emilia; siblings, Karen Frasier of Jasonville, IN, Robert Borders of Jasonville, IN; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; brothers, Bill Borders, Jack Borders.
Janice graduated from Jasonville High School. She was a longtime member of Jasonville American Legion Auxillary Post# 172. All who were close to her lovingly referred to her as Granny. She loved to read, sew, crochet, find a bargain at a yard sale, and drink coffee out on her porch swing. She loved her family and grandchildren dearly.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. In keeping with Janice’s wishes cremation is scheduled, there will be no visitation. Graveside services at Friendly Grove Cemetery and a gathering for family and friends at the Jasonville American Legion will be held at a later date, hopefully this summer.
