JAUNITA M. (YATES) SWALLS, 90, of Jasonville, IN passed away at 3:45 P.M. Sunday, February 6, 2022 in Glenburn Home in Linton, IN.

She was born November 24, 1931 in Terre Haute, IN to James M. Yates and Mamie Frances (Sparks) Yates.

Survivors include her children, Larry W. Swalls (Vickie) of Jasonville, IN, Clarence D. Swalls (Lamona) of Jasonville, IN, David L Swalls (Jennifer) of Danielsville, GA, Sharon S. Keller of Jasonville, IN; grandchildren, Christa Beckes (David), Stacy Gilbert (Brian), Ashley Long (Jason), Randy Keller (Missy), Carie Steele (Pat), Jamie Butler (Steven), Jaramy Swalls (Amy), Josh Swalls (Shaylee), Rachel Lietzau (Rob), Mica Kelly (Troy), Lydia Swalls; great-grandchildren – 20; great-great-grandchild – 1; sisters, Louise Dewees of Columbus, IN, Ruth Halstead of Terre Haute, IN; brothers, Bob Yates of Pimento, IN, Earl Yates (Heidi) of Farmersburg, IN, Charles Yates (Ruth) of Jasonville, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Helen Clark, Rosalie Nuckolls, Ethel Carrico, Albert Yates, Joe Yates, Harry Yates, Lowell Yates; son in-law, Paul Keller; great granddaughter, Charity Keller.

Jaunita graduated Oak Town High School Class of 1949. She enjoyed quilting, reading, cooking and was kept busy keeping her home going. Jaunita loved her children and families and keeping up with their activities. She loved playing cards like Old Maid, Skip-Bo and other games with the kids. She attended Emmanuel Apostolic Church in Hymera for many years and was actively involved there. She was a part of the fund raising that took place to pay off the mortgage of the church.

 

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 5 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at the Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11 A.M to 1 P.M. Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Emmanuel Apostolic Church 122 South Main Street, Hymera, IN with services immediately following with Pastor Bobby Weir officiating.

Interment will be at Peavey Cemetery in Howesville, IN.
