JOE DON WISE

JOE DON WISE, 79, of Coalmont, IN passed away at 7:35 P.M. Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at the Glenburn Home in Linton, IN.

He was born February 26, 1942 in Howesville, IN to Max O. Wise and Josie M. (Miller) Wise.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Lee Ann Wise of Coalmont, IN whom he married on February 24, 1963; children, Donya Bengert (Mike) of Haubstadt, IN, Robert Wise (Amy) of Jasonville, IN; grandchildren, Audrey Regan (Billy), Natalie Peters (Trevor), Seth Wise, Rachel Wise.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ruth Ada McLeish, Carol Ann Wise.

Joe Don graduated Coalmont High School Class of 1960. He worked as a Chemical Engineer at Crane Naval Base and farmed part time until his retirement from Crane when he began farming full time. He attended and was an active member of Shakamak Community Church. Joe Don was an active volunteer and strong supporter of the Salvation Army and actively worked with the Shakamak Medical Center and served on the board. He loved his kids and grandkids and never missed watching the grandkids play sports and their other activities. He enjoyed playing cards and teaching the grandkids to play cards.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 10 A.M. to 1 P.M. Saturday October 9, 2021 at the Funeral Home. Services immediately follow at 1 P.M. with Pastor Ron Riggs officiating.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Joe Don to the Salvation Army, Shakamak Community Church Coats for Kids at Shakamak School and the Alzheimer’s Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
