JOHN ALLEN KONING, 87, of Jasonville, IN passed away at 8:30 A.M. Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Glenburn Senior Living in Linton, IN.
He was born December 6th, 1937 in Beech Grove, IN to Henry J. Koning and Lora E. (Raisor) Koning.
John married Janice “Kathy” Price on March 2nd, 1992.
Survivors include his wife, Janice “Kathy” Koning of Jasonville, IN; step-children, Carissa (Scott) Swaby, Russell Lohr, David (Patricia Woodworth) Lohr, and step-grandchildren, Caleb, Emma, and Tristian Lohr.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-son, Jon Lohr; brother, Robert Koning and sister, Jennifer Williams.
John worked as a pipefitter for many years before working in maintenance at Eli Lilly where he retired in 1993.
John and his wife Kathy travelled in the motor home for several years. He loved talking on the CB for several years. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, riding his bicycle, and carved walking sticks. He was previously a member of Oak Street Baptist Church in Soddy Daisy, TN.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. In keeping with John’s wishes cremation is scheduled and there are no services planned at this time.
