JOHN R. COAKLEY, 67, of Shelburn, IN passed away at 11:24 p.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, IN.
He was born February 18, 1958 in Fort Riley, KS to Paul Coakley and Ricarda Coakley-Johnson (Bland).
Survivors include his children, John M. Eichorst of Linton, Kirshtin Coakley of Bakersfield, CA; siblings, Paul S. Coakley of Newport Richy, FL, Jean Graham of Jasonville, IN, Mary Farmer (Norman) of Jasonville, IN, Mike Coakley (Darla) of Jasonville, IN, Tim Coakley of Long Beach, CA; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
John joined the US Army in 1976. As a member of Shelburn and Sullivan American Legion Posts, he enjoyed working funeral military honors detail.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. In keeping with John’s wishes, cremation was chosen and services will be at a later date.
