DEWAYNE C. JOHNSON, 76, of Jasonville, Indiana passed away at 5:42 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2014 in his residence.

He was born January 12, 1938 in Sullivan County, IN to Ira C. Johnson and Geneva F. (Robertson) Johnson.

Survivors include his wife, Diana J. (Gambill) Johnson of Jasonville whom he married on May 26, 1992; son, David C. Johnson & Billie of Jasonville; daughters, Lisa Wilber of Effingham, IL, Shelly Van Horn & Rick of Jasonville, Chasity Samm & Tim of Jasonville; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Patricia McCullough of Indianapolis, Nola Watters of Jasonville; brothers, Ralph Johnson & Tina of Jasonville, Tom Johnson & Jill of Jasonville; aunt, Beulah “Boots” Walters; sister-in-law, Regina Mitchell; daughter-in-law, Mary Johnson; many nieces and nephews; beloved pet, Tikki.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Carolyn Johnson; son, Steven Johnson.

Dewayne worked as a welder for the Peabody Coal Company, Dugger Mine. He was a member of the U.M.W.A. and attended the Jasonville Assembly of God Church.

Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana with Visitation scheduled from 10 – 2 Service Time all on Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services followed Visitation at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at the Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Sam Bush officiating.

Interment was at Antioch Cemetery in Dugger, IN.
