JOSEPH T. JOHNSON, 83, of Jasonville, Indiana passed away at 3:20 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2013 in Sullivan County Community Hospital.
He was born March 29, 1929 in Jasonville, IN to Joseph T. Johnson and Iva (Mowery) Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia M. (Dickey) Johnson of Jasonville, IN whom he married on March 10, 1956; daughter & son-in-law, Peggy & Jack Frye of Kentucky; grandchildren, Jason & Anne Frye, Joel Frye; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Frye, Milo Frye.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Joe was a 1947 graduate of Midland High School. He enjoyed trucking, farming, loved being around animals and listening to country music. Joe was a custodian and bus driver for Metropolitan School District of Shakamak for 27 years.
Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana.
Graveside Services were 1 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2013 at the Lebanon Cemetery in Midland, IN with Pastor Mark Messmer officiating.
