TAMARA “TAMMY” KAY (RUSSELL) JOHNSON, 55 of Jasonville, Indiana passed away at Monday, May 8, 2017 at 11:32 p.m. in her home at Jasonville, IN.  

She was born November 13, 1961 in New Castle, IN to Oscar Harold Russell and Bonnie May (Hall) Russell Slaughter.

Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Lee Johnson of Jasonville whom she married on July 4, 2010;  mother and step-father, Bonnie and Frank Slaughter of Jamestown, TN; son, Denton Smith and fiance Nicole of Washington, IN; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lucinda and Mark Smith of Greenville, OH, Rebecca Sue and Dennis Beaudry of Linton, Mary Eugenia Bristow of Indianapolis; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Brenda Russell of Jasonville, Mark and Wilma Daniels of Crossville, TN; step-daughter, Sarita Cotton of Terre Haute; step-son and wife, Jimmy and Mickey Johnson of Terre Haute; 9 step-grandchildren; 2 step-great grandchildren; cousin, Debbie and Gary Foster; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Oscar Russell; son, David Smith; brother, Steven Russell.

Tammy graduated from South Side High School in Muncie, IN class of 1980. She was a member of the Jasonville Baptist Church and worked at Sony DADC for 10 years.  Tamara was a loving mother and loved everything and everybody in the world. She had a wonderful sense of humor. She was a District Executive, Cub/Boy Scouts, Canadian Council in Oklahoma.

Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation was scheduled from 5-7 p.m. Saturday with Funeral Services immediately following at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Brad West officiating.

As she requested, Cremation followed.
