KAREN SUE (BORDERS) FRAYSER, 84, of Jasonville, IN passed away at 7:54 a.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2025 in Glenburn Nursing Home in Linton, IN.

She was born July 27, 1941 in IN to Clarence Borders and Nellie (Denny) Borders.

Karen married Cecil Frayser on December 5, 1958, and was a devoted wife for 64 years. He passed away on April 19, 2022.

Survivors include her daughters, Sally Edwards (Stacy) of Coalmont, IN, Beth Faught (Joe) of Coalmont, IN; grandchildren, Dave FrayserJr., Ryan Wade, Casey Frayser, Rebecca Burns, Regina Edmonson, Shaylee Swalls, Jase Emanus, Jesse West, April Gorby, Justice Binion;many great-grandchildren; great-great-granddaughter; brother, Bob Borders (Miriam) of Jasonville, IN; several nieces and nephews; special niece, Ann “Sweet Pea” Burns; close friends, Hal Hall and Jay Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons, Steve Frayser, Matthew Frayser, David Frayser Sr.; siblings, Bill Borders, Jack Borders, Janice Hamilton.  

Karen had attended Emmanuel Apostolic Church in Hymera faithfully. She was always inviting her grandchildren to church with her as well as others, she passed along her faith to many others. She loved painting, setting out on her summer porch and writing stories when she had time. She worked at AMAX Chinook Coal Mine for over 20 years and was a UMWA member. Karen loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was always feeding them, especially ice cream, she taught her granddaughters how to make homemade pies and chicken and noodles. Karen was especially close to her great-grandchldren. Karen was feisty and always a caregiver to others, even in the nursing home. Karen looked forward to the day when she would meet Jesus.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, September 29, 2025 at the Funeral Home. Services are immediately following at 1 P.M. with Pastor David Smith officiating.

Interment will be at Friendly Grove Cemetery in Lewis, IN
