EDITH “EDIE” R. (SHIDLER) KELLER-DUZAN, 79, of Jasonville, Indiana passed away at 12:45 a.m. Sunday, May 24, 2015 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

She was born November 29, 1935 in Clay County, IN to Clyde Shidler and Irene (Fitzgerald) Shidler.

Survivors include her children, Debby & Terry McDaniel of Spencer, IN, Cindy & Greg Kline of Edwardsville, IL, John & Debbi Keller of Brazil, IN, Rob Keller & Jimmy Haskell of Indianapolis, IN Amy & Clint House of Linton, IN, Lisa & Mike Reed of Terre Haute, IN, Darin & Erin Duzan of Terre Haute, IN, Mark & Debbie Yeske of Decatur, IL; chosen children, Brian deBoer, Marianne Bemis, Tutti Russell, Gayle Yeager, Sharon Hammond, Sherri Roe; grandchildren, Michael, Scott, Jacob, Brittany, Lorelei, Chelsey, Sara, Lea, Hunter, Haydyn, Henley, Dallas, Delaney, Ben, Rhiannon, Justin, Phillip, Leigha, Taylor; great-grandchildren, Sean, Tyler, Eli, Claire Edith Kristine, Liam, Eden, Tristan, Gabriel, Benjaman, Nathan, Ethan, Stella, Kaydance; sisters & brother-in-law, Gladys Wright of Paris, IL, Ann & Willard Stevens of Jasonville, IN; brother, Earl Shidler of Dallas, TX; many nieces, nephews & cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; father of her children, Richard “Ric” Keller; husband, Norman E. Duzan; son, David Wayne Keller; 5 sisters; 2 brothers.

Edie was a 1954 graduate of Coalmont High School. She was an accountant. She was a member of the Friendly Grove Baptist Church where she played the piano for many years. Edie enjoyed playing the piano, singing, dancing, riding motorcycles, entertaining & cooking for family gatherings and going to church. She was a member of Triad and founder and director of the Friendly Grove Gospel Singers. She was a doting grandmother and great-grandmother as well as a successful match-maker!

Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation was scheduled from 5 – 9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services were 11 a.m. Thursday, May 28, 2015 at the Cox Funeral Home with Pastor David Smith officiating.

Interment was at Maple Grove Cemetery in Clay City, IN.

Contributions were made in memory of Edie to Pink of Terre Haute or Friendly Grove Baptist Church. Envelopes were available at the funeral home.
