KENNETH HASLER, 93, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away at 10:40 p.m. Thursday, May 20, 2010 in Davis Gardens Health Center, Terre Haute, IN. He was born March 26, 1917 near Taylor Ridge, Greene County, IN to Jasper Hasler and Gertrude (Haywood) Hasler.

Survivors include his wife Betty (Bedwell) Hasler of Terre Haute; daughters & son-in-law, Marica Hasler of Indianapolis, Joyce & Gary Clinkenbeard of Indianapolis; son & daughter-in-law, Brian & Maggie (McShane) Hasler of Indianapolis; step-sons, Roger & Neva Owens of Greenwood, Steve & Sally Owens of Terre Haute; sisters, Dorothy Wampler of Ellettsville, Betty Dean of Bloomfield; brother, Leland Hasler of Newberry; grandchildren, Elisa & Ty Halpin, Kristin & Hugh Clinkenbeard, Harry & Rowan Eileen Hasler; great-grandson, Sam Halpin; three step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Marjorie Davies Hasler; brothers, James Hasler, Frank Hasler; sister, Bernice Foster, Bea Crohn, Carrie Daniels and Kathleen Fiscus.

Kenneth was a correctional officer at Terre Haute Federal Penitentiary for 21 years and was a member of the Terre Haute VFW Post of the Wabash Valley, was a life-long farmer and was a US Army WWII veteran where he served in North Africa and Italy. Kenneth was kind, caring quick to lend a hand to those in need, and loved his family. He enjoyed reunions with the Hasler Family and the occasional practical joke. All who knew him loved him and will miss him greatly.

Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home, 218 South Meridian Street, Jasonville, IN. Visitation was 4-8 p.m. Sunday and noon until service time Monday at the funeral home. Funeral Services were 1 p.m. Monday, May 24, 2010 with Rev. Ray Dyer officiating. Interment was in Lebanon Cemetery, Midland, IN with military graveside rites.

In lieu of flowers, contributions were made the Alzheimer’s Association of America and Riley Children’s Hospital.
