DORIS LADONNA KNIGHT, 89, of Hymera, Indiana passed away at 8:40 p.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2014 in Sullivan County Community Hospital.
She was born May 8, 1924 in Hymera, IN to Pearl Foreman and Claudia (Rogers) Foreman.
Doris married William O. “Bill” Knight April 30, 1946 and he passed away on March 29, 2012.
Survivors include her son & daughter-in-law, Billy J. & Judy Knight of Bennington, VT; granddaughter, Whitney A. Knight; great-grandchildren, Tristan, Tanner and Carson Hankins; niece & nephew, Lawrence & Rosemary Keller, other nieces & nephews; and special friends, Bruce & Julie Stephens.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William O. Knight; son, James Decker Knight; sisters, Olive Ring Waldrop, Anne Sanders, Lucille Crosby, Louise Pearson, Lillis Owens, June Ice; brother, Rex Decker Foreman.
Doris was a homemaker. She loved fishing and spending time with her granddaughter, great-grandsons and her dog Papa.
Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana with Visitation scheduled from Noon until 2 p.m. service time Sunday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services were 2 p.m. Sunday, January 19, 2014 at the Cox Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Knight officiating.
Interment was at K of P Cemetery in Hymera, IN.
Contributions were made in memory of Doris to the charity of choice. Envelopes were available at the funeral home.
